918 Publishing might be a relatively new name to you but our owner and Editor in Chief has been in the business of publishing and selling books for nearly a decade and helped over 80 authors achieve USA Today Bestselling Author status. She knows how to get books into readers hands and as an author herself she understands the challenges and frustrations authors often experience.

We are NOT a vanity publisher.

You will NOT pay to have your book published with us.

We do NOT accept every submission that lands in our inbox.

We do NOT support mass production print runs.

🍃 Due to our commitment to sustainability, we are a digital first publisher. We do NOT offer print editions to the general public, however we do make author copies available for the purpose of book signings and events in carton quantities of twelve (12) with additional discounts applied for multi-carton orders. We request our authors commit to planting a tree, either in person or through donation to Team Trees, for each carton of books ordered.

Previously published books are accepted, but must NOT be published anywhere else at the time of submission.

We are ONLY accepting titles with series potential.

Individual Authors earn 50% NET royalties from sales of their book(s).

Anthology Authors earn a pro- rata share of 50% NET royalties from sales of the respective anthology.

We CURRENTLY accept completed manuscripts of 35,000 - 150,000 words in most genres with plans to accept short fiction from 5,000-25,000 in the near future. We are looking for books with strong well-developed plots, tension inducing conflicts, characters that get stuck in our readers minds, witty and smart banter between characters and of course… lots of heart and sometimes heat.

AI PRODUCED MATERIAL IS NOT ACCEPTED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO SIGN A STATEMENT SAYING YOU DID NOT UTILIZE AI IN THE CREATION OR PRODUCTION OF YOUR MANUSCRIPT IN ANY CAPACITY.

Please do not waste your time or ours. Your book should be thoroughly proofread before submission. If your manuscript is full of red lines the second our acquisitions editor opens the file, we’re not likely to read it. We receive far too many queries to read through all of them, so this is a hard line we have to draw in order to ensure we are spending our time working on the highest quality manuscripts for our readers and our team’s mental health.

Please ensure your text is mostly error free. Check for typos and punctuation errors. No head-hopping and make transitions between POV’s clear for the reader.

ALL romance submissions must end on either a HFN or HEA.

We cannot and will not accept every submission we receive.

NO cheating in romance submissions.

NO pedophilia, bestiality, incest, rape as titillation, necrophilia, underage sex or other depraved acts.

NO books currently published elsewhere.

NO plagiarism or infringement on the rights of others.

Those song lyrics you want to put in your book… Don’t.

We will NOT accept any manuscripts containing song lyrics or other copyrighted and/or trademarked material.

You must be 18+ in order to submit your manuscript to us because you will be required to sign legal documents to transfer the necessary rights to us in order for us to publish your book.

Title page should include your name, pen name, contact information and word count

Standard margins

Double or 1.5 line spacing

Chapter breaks = Page Break

Scene breaks = ***

Indented paragraphs

12 pt. Standard font like Garamond or Lora
